Welcome to Tom Dietz Outdoors!

I have fished numerous waters across the country and Canada for a number of different species, but my favorite fish is the mighty muskellunge. I am a professional guide and avid musky tournament angler and I am originally from Wisconsin. I am guiding musky anglers here in Ohio around my work schedule. I also write articles for Musky Hunter Magazine and Ohio Outdoor News each year. This web site is dedicated to bringing you current information about fishing in the great state of Ohio.
Contained within these pages are up-to-date fishing reports, numerous articles on successful fishing tactics, and lots of photos and how-to information for the outdoors enthusiast. You may also use it to contact me about musky fishing or bass fishing information in southwestern Ohio. I key on the area waters such as Caesar's Creek Lake, Alum Creek, Leesville, Salt Fork, and Clear Fork Lakes in Ohio, and also Cave Run Lake in Kentucky. I am guiding primarily on Caesar's Creek, Clear Fork and Alum Creek Lakes from March through December each year. I am dedicated to teaching and giving you a great experience on the water!
I have been involved in the fishing tackle industry for fifteen years. I ran Joe Bucher Tackle Company for eight years and was the Advertising Director for Joe's popular TV series "Fishing With Joe Bucher". I also was a Territory Sales Manager with Mepps and Mr.Twister for several years, covering Wisconsin, Minnesota, and North and South Dakota. I currently am the Store Manager of a major outdoor retailer in Dayton, Ohio. I give numerous musky fishing and turkey hunting seminars at sport shows, retail locations, and club meetings throughout the Upper Midwest in Chicago, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus, Ohio and other locations. I will continue to give these informative seminars on an annual basis.
My boys and I fish avidly for muskellunge, walleyes, and smallmouth bass, but also enjoy largemouth bass, trout, steelhead, panfish, and northern pike. I enjoy fishing tournaments, and have placed in a number of recent competitive PMTT musky tournament events with my partner, David Foor (Professional Musky Tournament Trail), including a tenth place final overall finish out of approximately 500 teams in the 2006 PMTT Final Top Gun Standings, and a third place overall finish during the 2000 season in the PMTT Championship Event with my partner and good friend Steve Heiting. I also placed in the top five three different times in the National Championship Musky Open based in Eagle River that draws over 1,000 anglers each year. I am an avid deer and turkey hunter, too!
If you are interested in an educational, fun guided musky trip in Ohio, or some fishing information or tips, please email me through the link provided in the "Contact Me" section of my site. Good luck fishing, and always practice catch and release on those muskies!
