Minnesota Musky Fishing with Tom Dietz Minnesota Fishing Guide ServiceI have fished numerous waters across the country and Canada for a number of different fish species, but my favorite fish is the mighty muskellunge. I am a professional musky guide and avid musky tournament angler and I am originally from Wisconsin.  I am guiding musky anglers here in Minnesota around my Gander Mountain work schedule as I am the Store Manager of the Baxter, Minnesota location.  I write articles for Musky Hunter Magazine, Muskies, Inc. Magazine, and other publications each year.  This web site is dedicated to bringing you current information about fishing and hunting in the great state of Minnesota.

Contained within these pages are up-to-date fishing reports, numerous articles on successful fishing tactics, and lots of photos and how-to information for the outdoors enthusiast. You may also use it to contact me about musky fishing or bass fishing information in North Central Minnesota.   The vast number and overall diversity of the lakes in this area makes for an incredible opportunity for anglers chasing all species.  I am dedicated to teaching and giving you a great learning experience on the water!

I have been involved in the fishing tackle industry for eighteen years.  I have been with Gander Mountain now for eight years. I ran Joe Bucher Tackle Company for six and a half years and was the Advertising Director for Joe's popular TV series "Fishing With Joe Bucher" during that span.  I give numerous musky fishing and turkey hunting seminars at sport shows, retail locations, and club meetings throughout the Upper Midwest in Minneapolis, Chicago, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Dayton and Columbus, Ohio and other locations.   

I have placed in a number of recent competitive PMTT musky tournament events (Professional Musky Tournament Trail), and I have qualified for the PMTT Championship Event six of the last seven years and eight times in all.  My partner, Aaron Templin and I took 6th Place in the 2010 PMTT Championship Event on Lake Minnetonka.  If you are interested in an educational, fun guided musky trip in Minnesota, or some fishing information or tips, please email me through the link provided in the "Contact Me" section of my site.  Good luck fishing, and always practice catch and release on those muskies and bass!
